Khloé Kardashian has totally legitimate reasons for swearing off NBA players.
The entrepreneur and star of The Kardashians just appeared on the Call Her Daddy podcast, released Wednesday (April 16). Kardashian opened up to host Alex Cooper about her relationship trauma, including being cheated on by both Lamar Odom and Tristan Thompson. She shares two kids with Thompson – True, seven, and Tatum, two.
Around the 36-minute mark in the video below, Kardashian recalls the first major scandal with Odom back in 2012 at a downtown LA motel, where she caught her then-husband with another woman.
“I saw in the window that him and this girl were, they were either naked or she was in lingerie, something like that,” Kardashian told Cooper. “I knocked on the door, they answered it for some reason, and I just started going ballistic on this girl, and I had to be pulled off of her.”
The next day, Kardashian showed up at her niece Penelope’s birthday party (Kourtney Kardashian’s daughter) with “bloody and gross” bandaged knuckles.
Kardashian endured multiple cheating incidents with Thompson, with one happening while she was expecting their first child. Following True’s birth, the couple had an on-again, off-again relationship before separating in 2021, a year before Tatum was born.
“I think the first one hurt the most because I was pregnant. Also, I didn’t get to sit with my feelings enough for the first one. I gave birth less than 48 hours later after the first cheating scandal happened with Tristan,” Kardashian explained.
“I don’t know if this sounds right but it’s what I could think to say, I don’t even think I was able to process everything that happened,” she added. “I think if I maybe was six months pregnant and that happened, I probably would’ve walked away and never went back. But because I gave birth less than two days later, I buried my head in the sand, and I was like, I just want to have this bliss that I always dreamed of, and have a brand new baby and have the daddy here.“
Kardashian felt she “let down” her younger sisters, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, by staying with Thompson. “Maybe the second [cheating incident] hurt more because I lived with it for so much longer, and maybe I had this shame with the second scandal because I sort of knew what was gonna happen again,” Kardashian continued.
While the Good American co-founder and Thompson maintain a friendly co-parenting relationship, Odom made headlines last year when he began creating a sex doll modeled after Kardashian. The former NBA star also recently appeared on The Kardashians, where he and his ex-wife had an uncomfortable conversation about their marriage.
