Wallo267 described the “blessing” of convincing a man not to jump from a Philadelphia bridge earlier this month. The Million Dollaz Worth of Game co-host intervened when he spotted the man attempting suicide, successfully talking him down from the ledge. His cousin and fellow Million Dollaz host, Gillie da Kid, shared video footage of the incident online. This week, while in Beverly Hills, Wallo spoke with TMZ and explained what prompted him to step in and help. “I was driving, I just came from the airport in Philadelphia. And in the process of me driving, I seen a brother right there, two police officers was there,” Wallo told the TMZ reporter.
While Wallo was initially confused about what was happening, he immediately jumped out of his vehicle when he realized the man was contemplating suicide.
“He was going through a lot of depression. A lot of family issues, lost his mother, niece, just a lot,” Wallo shared. “Just totaled a car. … I had a chance to get up close on him, called some of his family members, got him on a FaceTime. We was able to help him come down, so it was a blessing. He was going through a lot.”
Although police were trying to help, Wallo noted they seemed to struggle to truly connect with the man. “I think sometimes when you’ve got the complexion for connection and you see your people in the community … There’s some support there.”
After the incident, Wallo reached out to the man’s relatives and suggested that people dealing with mental health struggles “find somebody to talk to.”
“I think finding people to talk to and getting the right help, I think that’s the best thing you can do,” Wallo said.
Beyond his podcasting career, Wallo works as a motivational speaker, a path he committed to after spending twenty years behind bars.
