Tyla appeared to give a nod to pop icon Britney Spears with her Coachella outfit. During her second weekend performance at Coachella, Tyla took to the Outdoor Stage rocking a look that resembled one of Spears’ most memorable ensembles.
Tyla’s version featured a green and purple bra top paired with sparkly low-rise jean shorts. Rather than draping a snake around her neck like Spears did, she opted for zebra-print booties (which she later swapped for crocodile-style knee-high boots).
Spears rocked the original version of this look at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards, where she stunned the audience during her “I’m a Slave 4 U” performance by casually wearing a massive snake draped around her shoulders like it was just another accessory.
Tyla’s iconic look wasn’t the only shock at this year’s Coachella. Ty Dolla Sign pulled off something special by having his big brother, Big TC, who’s currently behind bars, perform as part of his Coachella set.
During his performance, Ty paused to play a video of his brother singing while a live choir added backing vocals. He broadcast Big TC’s vocals on a massive screen so the entire Coachella crowd could hear him loud and clear.
