Wiz Khalifa, who recently made headlines for embracing the scientifically rejected flat Earth conspiracy theory, is giving fans a peek into the financial side of his career. During the same Joe Budden Podcast episode where his flat Earth comments drew attention, Wiz also discussed his fees for guest verses and live shows, sharing some truly impressive numbers.
“They’re still the same,” Wiz told Budden and his co-hosts when asked about his rates during the height of his “See You Again” fame. “250, 250. Oh, you talking about for a show or a verse?”
Wiz then explained that $250,000 for a guest verse remains his current rate, pointing out this price doesn’t include guaranteed participation in the song’s music video. As for his performance fees, Wiz stated: “Shows honestly go up to, like, 2 Ms.”
Wiz, whose Budden interview is now viewable on Patreon, emphasized the global reach he’s achieved with his music: “I have worldwide songs. I got stuff that people sing in China or Brazil or New Zealand and Thailand and Germany [and] Norway and stuff like Korea, you know what I’m saying?”
Some of Wiz’s notable guest appearances include “Kush Ups” with Snoop Dogg, “Feelin’ Myself” with will.i.am, “23” with Miley Cyrus, and “Uma Thurman (Boys of Zummer Remix)” with Fall Out Boy. That last collaboration led to a remix of Wiz’s track “Staying Out All Night,” featuring his 2015 tour partners FOB.
Wiz’s collaboration with Charlie Puth, “See You Again,” has reached Diamond status since dropping in 2015. According to the RIAA’s November 2023 records, the track has gone 14-times Platinum.
Last Friday, Wiz dropped his perfectly-timed new project Kush + Orange Juice 2, with guest spots from Gunna and Max B, among others. As previously mentioned, Wiz recently told a TMZ photographer he “can’t even count” the number of joints that were smoked during the album’s recording sessions.
