Kanye Claims Fans Listing Kendrick Lamar as a Favorite MC ‘Don’t Know About Rap’

Kanye West Keeps Taking Shots at Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole, Seemingly Hoping for a Response

Ye (formerly Kanye West) continues his downward spiral, apparently trying to provoke reactions from Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole by openly dissing their music.

In his most recent bid for attention, Ye questioned Drake’s collaboration with Cole before declaring people shouldn’t mention being fans of the Fayetteville artist’s work. “I hate J. Cole,” he stated. “It can’t even be called music. I hate J. Cole.”

Ye then shifted his focus to the Compton rapper who previously featured on his The Life of Pablo track “No More Parties in LA.”

“And it’s something about both J. Cole and Kendrick that kinda, that leaves me sorta like—it reminds me of each other and shit like that,” he remarked while alongside Toronto artist Top5. “It’s just not that sauce to me.”

Kanye also expressed frustration about Ben Affleck placing Kendrick on his Mount Rushmore of rappers during an episode of Complex’s GOAT Talk with Jon Bernthal.

“Anybody that say Kendrick is one of their favorite rappers, don’t know about rap, doesn’t know about real rap,” Ye said.

This marks just another instance where Kendrick has been targeted by the 47-year-old artist. Just last week, Ye labeled Lamar and Tyler, the Creator as the “two most overrated so-called artist,” claiming Kendrick “cannot rap” and “doesn’t have one bar where I say I wish I said that.”

Before that incident, Ye, while wearing black Ku Klux Klan-style clothing, told Akademiks that Kendrick has “no hits.”

The musician previously known as Kanye West has also shared his dislike for Cole’s music on several occasions.
