Beyoncé Brings Tina Knowles to Stage to Celebrate Literary Success: “Congrats Mama T”

Beyoncé brought Tina Knowles center stage Thursday night to celebrate her mom’s literary triumph with her new memoir, Matriarch.

Footage from the Cowboy Carter Tour performance at SoFi Stadium captured the heartfelt moment as Queen Bey escorted her mother onstage, where they stood together with Blue Ivy and Rumi, creating a powerful three-generation tableau.

“Today is a big day because my mother, who worked so hard on her book, she has the No. 1 book on The New York Times bestsellers,” Beyoncé announced proudly, then led the massive crowd in a unified chant of “Congratulations, Mama T.”

The emotional mother-daughter tribute happened right after Beyoncé delivered a touching performance of “Protector” alongside her children. The 43-year-old superstar launched her Cowboy Carter Tour with an impressive three-and-a-half-hour marathon show in LA on Monday.

Video from the opening night captures Blue Ivy and Rumi sharing the spotlight with their famous mom during “Protector.” The scene shows Blue positioned behind Beyoncé while little Rumi approaches for a heartwarming hug. Both daughters participate in the choreographed routines, with an adorably enthusiastic Rumi waving excitedly to fans before exiting with her big sister.

This marks another chapter in Blue Ivy’s evolving stage presence, following her backup dancer role during the 2023 Renaissance World Tour and her appearance in Beyoncé’s Christmas Day NFL halftime performance last year.

Tina Knowles shared her emotional reaction on Instagram after opening night, revealing that “Protector” holds special significance for her. She wrote: “Oh my God this moment!! The tears, the love the protection,” adding that the song resonates deeply because it explores “allowing your children to grow and to shine on their own, but still being a protector.”

Tina’s memoir Matriarch hit shelves April 22 and wasted no time climbing The Times’ bestseller rankings.

Beyoncé took to Instagram Thursday to celebrate her mom’s success with a playful yet heartfelt message: “The Mama T was that good?? Ha. You deserve it, I’m so proud!”
