Doechii has responded to that buzzed-about video featuring the rapper and her crew, before she hit the carpet at the 2025 Met Gala.
The Alligator Bites Never Heal hitmaker brushed off the drama by dropping a playful TikTok of herself, with “God forbid a girl needs more umbrellas ” splashed across the screen, all while The Commodores’ smooth track “Easy” plays in the background.
The caption got real though. “All jokes aside this was such an overstimulating night but I wouldn’t trade it for the world!” Doechii shared. “This was the night we all dreamed of and my team killed it (umbrellas aside)”
Doechii showed major love to her glam squad and the LV crew for “an incredible night.” She also opened up about what this year’s Met Gala and the “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” theme really meant to her, adding, “Everyone killed it. We nailed the theme. and a time was had”
Doechii caught heat over how she dealt with her crew when she was caught on tape demanding umbrella after umbrella, trying to dodge the paparazzi cameras.
“I’m ready … No, stop, give me another umbrella, now!” Doechii snaps from behind a screen in the clip below. “And another one. Who has an umbrella? I need four fucking umbrellas … Because they’re gonna try to stick their fucking cameras in here. … Hold the umbrellas and do not let that fucking Velcro [unclear] fall.”
“I will not!” a team member fires back.
Beyond all the buzz about Doechii’s viral Met Gala incident, the rapper actually scored a spot on the event’s Host Committee—bringing back a tradition that hadn’t been seen since 2019. The star-studded lineup featured heavy hitters from across fashion, music, sports, and the arts, including André 3000, Simone Biles, Ayo Edebiri, Usher, Janelle Monáe, and Spike Lee.
