Eminem can breathe a bit easier now that Matthew David Hughes, a persistent stalker who broke into the rapper’s Clinton Township residence twice, has been convicted by a jury.
According to the Detroit Free Press, the 32-year-old was declared guilty in court on Wednesday (May 7) of first-degree home invasion and aggravated stalking charges. He was arrested last August after sneaking onto Eminem’s property, marking the second time he’d broken into the rapper’s Michigan home.
Back in 2020, he invaded Eminem’s house and disturbed his sleep. In testimony that might remind fans of Em’s iconic Marshall Mathers LP song “Stan,” a detective working the case revealed that Eminem told him Hughes admitted breaking into his house with the intention of killing him.
