Judge Denies Diddy’s Attempt to Keep His iCloud Searches Out of Trial

Diddy’s push to exclude crucial evidence from his upcoming racketeering and sex trafficking case has been shut down. On Friday (May 9), Judge Arun Subramanian ruled that findings from searches of the mogul’s properties, person, phones, and iCloud accounts can all be presented in court.

In February, Diddy tried to suppress evidence gathered through four 2024 warrants covering raids on his Los Angeles and Miami homes, plus searches of two of his phones and his iCloud data. His attorneys blasted the government’s warrant applications as “intentionally misleading” and “grossly distorted.”

Their argument mainly focused on claims that prosecutors ignored evidence showing the mogul’s so-called “Freak Offs” were consensual, especially those involving Cassie Ventura (identified as “Victim-1” in court files).

Judge Subramanian rejected Diddy’s request on Friday, writing that the Bad Boy founder failed to demonstrate the government’s applications were “intentionally misleading.” He stated that when the search happened, authorities had probable cause to believe “that Combs physically abused Victim-1, that he coerced her using blackmail, and that she didn’t want to participate in some Freak Offs.”

The entertainment mogul, born Sean Combs, faces charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution. The 55-year-old could get life behind bars if convicted. Check out our breakdown of his trial’s first week here.
