Playboi Carti’s producer F1lthy claims the rapper’s upcoming album, BABY BOI, is already completed. But fans shouldn’t hold their breath for a quick release, as Carti and his team are currently focused on pushing his recently dropped I AM MUSIC project.
F1lthy broke the news on X while responding to a fan who worried that BABY BOI might quietly disappear without ever seeing the light of day.
“Shit already done we still pushing I am tho,” F1lthy wrote.
F1lthy’s statement backs up what Swamp Izzo told us back in April when he claimed that BABY BOI was completely finished.
When questioned about the project, Izzo simply stated it was “Ready. Done.”
He also revealed that they’ve recorded approximately 50 to 60 tracks for the album.
“Completed to his liking? I couldn’t say. But they’re done,” Izzo added.
“If I was still in that mixtape era, we’d have BABY BOI one through nine,” Izzo continued. “Fifteen years ago, we were so heartfelt on them exclusives. We couldn’t even sleep until we put it out before everybody.”
Carti first announced BABY BOI on the same day he dropped I AM MUSIC. The rapper posted a flex showing all of his album tracks dominating Apple Music’s charts and wrote “BABY BOI OTW” across it.
I AM MUSIC released on March 14th. The massive 30-track album features collaborations with big names like Travis Scott, Future, Kendrick Lamar, and Young Thug. It moved 298,000 album-equivalent units in its first week, becoming Carti’s fastest-selling project ever. A deluxe version of I AM MUSIC followed on March 25th.
