Tory Lanez has reportedly been hospitalized after getting stabbed while locked up.
According to TMZ, the 32-year-old Canadian rapper was attacked by another inmate on Monday, May 12, during a confrontation in the yard at California Correctional Institution at Tehachapi. Sources say Lanez was transported to a hospital by ambulance with injuries that aren’t considered life-threatening. The reason behind the attack remains unclear.
Lanez is currently serving a 10-year sentence for shooting Megan Thee Stallion back in 2020. Earlier this year, Megan secured a five-year restraining order against him, though he continues to maintain his innocence regarding the shooting. Despite his incarceration, Lanez has kept recording music from prison, even after a riot interrupted one of his studio sessions in February.
In March, Lanez dropped his album Peterson, which doubled down on allegations he’d previously made in an ethics complaint against his lawyer last year. That complaint, which the State Bar ultimately dismissed, claimed his former attorney, Shawn Holley, had connections to Roc Nation – the management company Megan signed with in 2019. On the album, he also claimed Chris Brown paid for his legal representation while he was behind bars.
Just recently, Megan’s lawyers convinced the court to hit Lanez with sanctions after he abruptly ended a deposition with behavior described as “disruptive” and “inflammatory.”
