Representatives for Justin Bieber have clarified his relationship with Diddy, who’s currently facing a federal sex trafficking trial.
As first reported by TMZ, sources close to Bieber addressed speculation about the allegations of years of abuse and sexual misconduct that people allegedly suffered at Diddy’s hands, the mogul having previously been friends with the singer. “Although Justin is not among Sean Combs’ victims, there are individuals who were genuinely harmed by him,” the representative stated. “Shifting focus away from this reality detracts from the justice these victims rightfully deserve.”
Page Six and People later reported they’d spoken with a Bieber spokesperson who denied the singer was ever victimized by the Bad Boy Records founder.
This statement follows fan speculation that Diddy may have abused Bieber, as they made several public appearances together when he was still a teenager, including on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2011, when Diddy remarked that Bieber “knows better than to be talking about things that he does with Big Brother Puff on national television.” In another widely shared clip from 2009, Diddy suggested he was spending “the next 48 hours” with the then 15-year-old singer, and they planned to “go buck-full crazy.” The sources claimed these appearances were “performative,” and noted Bieber was friends with Diddy’s sons Quincy and Justin Combs, according to TMZ.
During his ongoing trial, Diddy’s former girlfriend Cassie has testified against him and detailed their allegedly abusive relationship. Another witness provided extensive testimony about his so-called “freak-off” sex parties, claiming he participated in multiple sexual encounters with the former couple while Diddy watched.
