No, Cassie Never Claimed Nicki Minaj Encouraged Her to Stay With Diddy Despite Abuse Allegations

Reports that Cassie Ventura claimed Nicki Minaj advised her to stay with Diddy after learning about the alleged abuse are completely false.

Inner City Press journalist Matthew Russell Lee jumped on X Friday morning to alert his followers about a “falsified post” circulating online that looks like it came from his account.

“The post below is NOT from Inner City Press,” he stated.

Lee has been posting trial transcripts on X since Diddy’s case can’t be streamed or recorded on video.

In the fake tweet, prosecutors supposedly ask Ventura about entertainers she could reach out to for support. Ventura reportedly explained there were too many people “loyal” to Diddy.

When asked who she meant, the fabricated tweet claims Cassie named Minaj. “I reached out to Nicki Minaj, and she told me to stop complaining,” according to the false tweet. “It’s part of the game. You are rich and famous. Girls will die to be in my shoes.”

Lee shared the actual exchange about Minaj from Diddy’s lawyer, Anna Estevao.

“Beyond Kid Cudi, what other musicians were you put in the studio with? Were you put in the studio with Nicki Minaj?” Estevao asked, and Ventura simply replied, “Yes.”

Lee also added a note to his followers: “This is the first and so far only reference to Nicki Minaj in this trial.”

Estevao also questioned Cassie about other artists she worked with, including Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, and Pusha T.

Nicki and Cassie teamed up on the 2012 track “The Boys,” which was the first single from the re-release of Minaj’s second album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded – The Re-Up.

On Friday, Cassie Ventura’s husband, Alex Fine, released a statement through her lawyer during Diddy’s trial. He addressed speculation about his feelings while hearing Cassie’s testimony and pushed back against the notion that he “saved” her, saying: “I have felt tremendous pride and overwhelming love for Cass. I have felt profound anger that she has been subjected to sitting in front of a person who tried to break her.”
