Tory Lanez has been relocated to a new prison facility in San Luis Obispo County after getting stabbed earlier this month.
On Thursday (May 22), TMZ reported on Lanez, who was previously given a 10-year sentence after his conviction in the Megan Thee Stallion shooting case, being transferred from the California Correctional Institution to the California Men’s Colony. The two facilities are about three hours apart.
Earlier this month, a representative for Lanez revealed that he had been stabbed 14 times, causing both of his lungs to collapse. Online prison records checked by Complex verify that he is currently housed at California Men’s Colony.
Tory’s attorney told TMZ that the rapper is “doing fine, considering the severity of his injuries … but isn’t necessarily happy he had to move to CMC, near San Luis Obispo.”
TMZ also reported that while Tory had established a solid community at his first prison, “officials could no longer keep Tory safe at Tehachapi”
News of the stabbing prompted another public display of support from Drake, who called for Lanez’s release last year. It also sparked another round of baseless claims about Lanez being innocent regarding the 2020 shooting.
“Despite Mr. Lanez being convicted at trial by overwhelming evidence (that included his own admission of his guilt), he and his team — flanked by any ignorant person they can find — have pushed whatever misleading narrative they can,” Alex Spiro, Megan’s attorney, stated this week, repeating previous comments he’s made about false information in the case.
In October 2024, Spiro spoke with Complex after a viral claim that Lanez had been declared “innocent” in the shooting case. Not only was this claim “completely false,” according to Spiro, but it was part of a broader strategy of Lanez “spinning up these nonsense bloggers from jail.”
Later that same month, Megan filed a lawsuit against a blogger for allegedly conducting a “campaign of harassment and cyberbullying” on Lanez’s instructions.
