Jennifer Lopez launched the American Music Awards with a sizzling smooch.
The superstar and evening’s host took center stage on Monday night (May 26) and moved to a medley featuring 23 of the year’s most popular tracks, including Kendrick Lamar’s “Squabble Up,” Doechii’s “Denial Is a River” and Chappell Roan’s “Hot to Go.”
Midway through the performance, J.Lo planted a kiss on a male backup dancer, then immediately shared another with a female dancer while Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control” played in the background.
Following the passionate kiss sequence, Lopez spoke to the audience, declaring, “I had to kick things off by turning it up to the biggest songs of the year and dancing my heart out for all of you.”
Both Lopez and the AMAs are staging significant returns this year.
The “world’s largest fan-voted award show” returned to television after a two-year break that started in 2022.
Meanwhile, Lopez is heading back on tour with her Up All Night: Live in 2025 concert series, marking her first touring venture in six years. The tour kicks off on July 4 in Egypt and will make stops in numerous international destinations.
