Eddie Murphy’s son and Martin Lawrence’s daughter have tied the knot.
Murphy shared the news on The Jennifer Hudson Show, revealing to the host that his son Eric wed Jasmin approximately “two weeks ago” in a private ceremony.
“They went off—everybody was making their big wedding plans, and then they decided they wanted to do something quiet with just the two of them,” Murphy revealed.
He also cracked a joke that Lawrence won’t have to “pay for the wedding now.”
Eric popped the question to Jasmin in November 2024. Footage of the romantic proposal shows the 35-year-old dropping to one knee to ask his now-wife to marry him, surrounded by candles, white roses, and a large red heart.
Eric announced the engagement on Instagram, posting, “God truly blessed us with a love that feels like destiny. We couldn’t be more excited for this next chapter. Special thank you to everyone who made this moment so magical.”
By then, they had been together for just over three years, officially going public with their relationship on IG in July 2021. Last year, they walked their first red carpet together at the Los Angeles premiere of Murphy’s latest Beverly Hills Cop: Alex F movie.
Earlier this year, Lawrence spoke about the upcoming wedding between his 29-year-old daughter and Eric, telling Sherri Shepherd he was fine with covering the wedding expenses.
“Eddie said, ‘Naw, naw.’ He said I had to pay for the last six weddings. ‘Cause Eddie got a lot of children,” Lawrence shared on Sherri. “So he said, ‘You paying for this one.’ So I don’t have a problem with it.”
Lawrence also mentioned he’ll leave the reception toast to Murphy: “He’s funnier.”
