Bella and Gigi Hadid have announced they have a half-sister they never knew existed, named Aydan Nix.
Through a joint statement to the Daily Mail, the sisters shared that they recently made contact with 23-year-old Aydan after she discovered her true parentage via a DNA test taken following the death of the man she considered her biological father. Growing up in Florida, Aydan had no idea she was related to the famous Hadid family.
The Hadids revealed that their father, Mohamed Hadid, had a brief romance more than twenty years ago—following his 2000 split from Yolanda Hadid—which led to Aydan’s birth.
“Aydan was born and raised in Florida, growing up with the man she lovingly knew as her father until his sudden passing when she was 19,” the Hadid sisters stated. “After his passing, she decided to take a genetic test out of curiosity, and that’s how she discovered a biological connection to us.”
They continued, “We’ve cherished this unexpected and beautiful addition to our family […] As siblings, we’ve had many open and loving conversations—with Aydan included—about how to support and protect her. Aydan and her family value their privacy, and we fully respect that. We kindly ask others to do the same and honor her wish and right to her anonymity as she continues her life as a young woman in New York.”
