Megan Thee Stallion Unveils Her Latest Anime Project at DreamCon

Megan Thee Stallion is set to star in her own anime series coming to Prime Video. The rapper — a known anime enthusiast — made the announcement at DreamCon on May 30. Sporting a costume inspired by the fan-favorite Bleach character Yoruichi Shihōin, Megan stepped onto the stage to reveal her partnership with Carl Jones (known for his work on The Boondocks) for this upcoming project.

“You ain’t never seen an anime like this ever in your life,” Meg hinted without sharing additional specifics.

Megan has been vocal about her anime obsession throughout her career. In 2020, she teamed up with Crunchyroll for an anime-themed streetwear collection. The gender-neutral lineup, featuring graphic tees in short and long sleeves, canvas tote bags, and pullover hoodies, showcased her animated “Savage” music video with anime artwork.

That same year, Megan opened up about her anime fascination in a Crunchyroll interview.

“I’m half anime character, half rapper,” she explained. “I like how you see a character, and it starts off, he’s not really the strongest, he might be a little weak, but he has to go through all this training. You grow with the character. You see all the trials and tribulations they go through. Then you meet new people along the way that help them become the person he needs to be. I apply that to my life a lot.”

On May 29, Megan launched her 18-piece Hot Girl Summer swimwear line during PARAISO Miami Swim Week. The collection, set to hit Walmart stores, their website, and Megan’s own site, showcases colorful bikinis, monokinis, one-piece suits, cover-ups, and other items priced between $16 and $28.

“Everyone knows I love being near a pool or a beach, so I finally decided to turn my passion into a business and create my own swimwear brand,” Megan shared in a press release. “It was only right that we kick off Hot Girl Summer with this launch and provide Hotties of all body types with the official Hot Girl uniform. I used to shop at Walmart growing up, so it’s a full circle to have my own line available at Walmart and I’m so grateful for their support.”
