Sydney Sweeney and Jonathan Davino have called it quits — and the actress is apparently thriving in her newfound single status.
Sweeney, 27, who appears in the upcoming Apple TV+ film Echo Valley, spoke with The Times and revealed that fans shouldn’t expect wedding bells in her near future.
The Euphoria actress and Davino, 41, broke up in January and called off their engagement in March after seven years together. According to TMZ‘s March report, around the time the couple postponed their May wedding, Sweeney removed an Instagram post featuring her and Davino sharing a kiss.
“I’m learning a lot about myself, spending more time with my friends. And I’m loving it,” Sweeney shared with the publication.
During the same interview, Sweeney discussed her bond with actor Glen Powell, her co-star in the 2023 romantic comedy Anyone But You. Davino, a restaurateur, served as producer on the film, while Sweeney and Powell sparked media attention with their playful interactions during the movie’s promotional tour.
“Glenn and I adore each other, so I think we were so happy for the reception of the film,” Sweeney said about Powell. “When you spend so much time with someone, you become close and you talk to each other about anything. So work, life, family, friends, he’s just there for me. I’m there for him.”
However, last April, Powell clarified to the New York Times that any supposed romantic tension with Sweeney was purely strategic, claiming the actress orchestrated it as a marketing tactic.
“The two things that you have to sell a rom-com are fun and chemistry. Sydney and I have a ton of fun together, and we have a ton of effortless chemistry,” Powell explained to the publication. “That’s people wanting what’s on the screen off the screen, and sometimes you just have to lean into it a bit — and it worked wonderfully. Sydney is very smart.”
