Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and Harvey Weinstein reportedly have a shared rape accuser.
More than a year after filing suit against Diddy for alleged drugging and sexual assault in 2003, model Crystal McKinney has brought a lawsuit against Weinstein for supposedly raping her and a friend during the same year. According to TMZ, McKinney claims in the lawsuit filed through her attorney, Michelle Caiola, that Weinstein raped her and a friend at the Ritz-Carlton Battery Park in Manhattan.
The model and Weinstein supposedly planned to meet regarding “business opportunities,” though McKinney says a modeling executive warned her beforehand that the film producer would expect sex. After McKinney and her friend allegedly encountered Weinstein at a nightclub, he claimed he couldn’t hear the women properly and invited them to his hotel room to continue their discussion. McKinney alleges that Weinstein got the women intoxicated and forced them to engage sexually with each other before assaulting them.
Weinstein’s attorney, Imran H. Ansari, has dismissed the accusations against his client as “outlandish and fantastical.” “Made late in time and suspiciously on the heels of her complaint against Sean “Diddy” Combs, Mr. Weinstein is ready to refute and defend against the salacious claims, that are believed to have been made with an opportunistic motive,” Ansari told TMZ.
Last year, McKinney accused Diddy of sexually assaulting her in a comparable way, alleging that the music executive spiked a joint she was smoking and forced her into a bathroom where she was sexually assaulted.
Both men face trials for sex crimes, with accusations against the now-convicted Weinstein sparking the #MeToo movement over the past decade, as numerous female entertainers accused him of sexual assault and abuse. Diddy’s racketeering conspiracy trial started last month, with various testimonies being presented about his alleged organization of drug-fueled sex parties and intimidation of former assistants.
