Lil Durk Claims FBI Informant Is ‘Unreliable’ in Murder-for-Hire Case

Lil Durk and his defense team have claimed that the prosecution in his murder-for-hire case is depending on an unreliable FBI informant.

Based on HipHopDX reports, Durk felt he should be freed from custody before trial, arguing that the informant had been giving false details to prosecutors.

“The government repeatedly cites allegations from a federal case out of Illinois where Mr. Banks has never been charged and never will be charged, despite the passage of over three years since the underlying incident,” Durkio’s attorney, Drew Findling, stated, according to the outlet.

“The government’s own exhibit reveals that the allegations pertaining to Mr. Banks are based primarily on information from a cooperating human source, ‘CHS 1,’ described in the affidavit as a paid FBI informant and former gang member with a criminal history.”

Findling also argued that the government hasn’t demonstrated that Durk poses a flight risk or threatens public safety if released on bond. The Chicago rapper has since offered a $4.5 million bail package, including $3 million in personal cash. He essentially volunteered to place himself under house arrest with 24-hour security supervision.

Though prosecutors argued the bail amount was insufficient, the court hasn’t reached a decision yet.

Last fall, Durk was accused of plotting to kill Quando Rondo in 2022 as payback for the 2020 fatal shooting of King Von. Durk’s supposed revenge scheme led to the death of Rondo’s cousin Saviay’a “Lul Pab” Robinson at a Los Angeles gas station.

Durk faces charges including one count of conspiracy, one count of using interstate facilities to commit murder-for-hire resulting in death, and one count of using, carrying, and discharging firearms and a machine gun and possessing such firearms in furtherance of a violent crime resulting in death.
