During the ongoing custody battle between DDG and Halle Bailey over their son, Halo, the rapper claimed his ex concealed Apple AirTags in his cars to monitor his whereabouts.
On Wednesday, DDG—real name Darryl Granberry Jr.—submitted an emergency motion to stop his ex from bringing their 18-month-old child to Italy for her film work. The YouTuber said Halle poses an “imminent emotional and psychological risk,” and made several troubling allegations, including that the singer placed AirTags in his three vehicles.
The judge has since rejected DDG’s motion and allowed Halo to travel with his mother on her trip.
“I must be on set in Italy to film a movie,” Halle said in court documents she filed in response to DDG on Wednesday (June 4). “I am contractually bound to be there from June 7, 2025 to August 4, 2025. Darryl has known about this work obligation for months. This is my source of income, on which Halo and I rely to pay all bills.”
Based on court documents obtained by Complex, DDG alleged that Bailey used tracking devices to monitor him. He said he began getting AirTag tracking notifications on his Apple devices and found the AirTags with assistance from his mother, Tonya Granberry, and her fiancé, George Charleston, who is DDG’s driver.
Granberry supported her son’s allegations in the filing.
“The first AirTag was discovered in June 2023, in Darryl’s Maybach. Darryl called me that night, stating that Petitioner, Halle Bailey, had shown up uninvited to a movie theater in Beverly Hills where he was attending a film with a female friend,” Granberry said.
Granberry then said that she and her son located the AirTag the next day, concealed under the seat of the same vehicle. A few days later, they discovered another AirTag in DDG’s Cadillac Escalade, and a few weeks later, they found a second AirTag “concealed in a vitamin bottle” in the Escalade.
Granberry said she came across a fourth AirTag after the birth of Halo “inside the baby’s diaper bag, hidden underneath the internal cardboard lining.”
Charleston supported her allegations in a statement included in the restraining order filing.
DDG said that Bailey physically attacked him and provided concerning supposed text messages between him and Bailey, which seem to show her accusing him of cheating and threatening to harm herself. The context of the conversation is unclear.
DDG’s motion comes weeks after Bailey was awarded temporary custody of Halo, partly because she alleged DDG was physically and emotionally abusive toward her. Bailey’s temporary custody ended on Wednesday.
