The ongoing court fight between former partners DDG and Halle Bailey escalated as DDG submitted a petition seeking full custody of their young son, Halo. In his filing, DDG made several troubling allegations about Bailey and revealed what he claims are text conversations between them where the actress and singer supposedly threatened suicide due to their relationship’s breakdown. DDG also claimed Bailey physically attacked him and secretly monitored his whereabouts by placing AirTags on his cars.
What did Halle Bailey allegedly say in the her text messages say to DDG?
Alongside the streamer and rapper’s urgent request to prevent Bailey from taking their son, Halo, abroad, supposed text conversations between the former couple were made public on Wednesday (June 4). The disturbing messages are included in DDG’s restraining order application, where he accused The Little Mermaid star of “growing hostility” regarding his “professional collaborations with other women” and a “fixation” on his past relationships.

The supposed messages, which Complex has acquired and reviewed, show Bailey accusing DDG, born Darryl Granberry Jr., of infidelity and avoiding his responsibilities with their son on several occasions.
Halle accuses DDG of cheating

In a text from March 21 of last year (2024), Bailey supposedly wrote that she “found out” about DDG having an affair in Mexico with “Lala,” presumably influencer Lala Baptiste.

Who is Lala to DDG?
The pair have been spotted working together on content posted on social media platforms and streams.

DDG accuses Halle of wanting to “kill” herself over his Sexyy Red tweet On that same day, Bailey accused DDG of not caring about her or Halo, to which DDG responded, “You want to kill yourself because I tweeted sexy red [sic] a good rapper? this literally makes no sense.” The tweet he referenced was posted by DDG last year. “sexyy redd top 5 female rapper of all time,” he wrote at the time.

DDG claims Halle threatened self harm and suicide
In the legal documents, DDG alleges that Halle made multiple threats of self-harm and suicide, and used “emotional coercion and manipulation” during their relationship to “exert her control” over him. DDG also claimed that on March 21, 2024, Halle threatened suicide before trying to drive while emotionally upset with the child in the car. He says he was so worried about their son Halo’s safety that he contacted Halle’s godmother for assistance. He also alleges that she sent similar threatening messages in September and November 2024.

The exchange became even more troubling with Bailey supposedly pleading with DDG to take Halo and accusing her then-boyfriend of wanting her to “die.”
“I’m genuinely scared of you man,” DDG responded in the supposed text conversation. “I feel like you’re gonna kill me in my sleep one day.” The couple would split seven months later.

DDG claims Halle took his gun and threatened to end her life
Based on court documents, DDG claims that Halle threatened her life with his gun, which she supposedly took after a “particularly volatile” argument in August 2023. “Without my consent, she took the weapon and left the house,” the court docs state.
“On March 21, 2024, Petitioner sent messages threatening to kill herself and made statements that suggested she might harm our son. She then attempted to drive while in emotional distress with our child in the car,” the docs state. “I was so concerned for Halo’s safety that I contacted Petitioner’s godmother, asking her to intervene. On at least two other occasions that I can recall — one in September 2024 and another in November 2024 – Petitioner sent similarly threatening messages.”
DDG claims Halle placed AirTags on his cars
DDG alleged that during Halle Bailey’s pregnancy (April–December 2023), he found Apple AirTags hidden in all three of his vehicles, which he believes she used to stalk and monitor him. He says he started getting repeated AirTag tracking notifications on his devices and, with assistance from his mother and her fiancé (who is also his driver), eventually found the hidden AirTags after multiple attempts to locate them.
In other parts of the court docs, DDG’s mom, Tonya Granberry, backed up her son’s AirTag allegations with her own account. “The first AirTag was discovered in June 2023, Darryl called me that night, stating that Petitioner, Halle Bailey, had shown up uninvited to a movie theater in Beverly Hills where he was attending a film with a female friend,” she said. Granberry added that she and her son discovered another AirTag the following day concealed under the seat of his Maybach.
What else do the court documents claim?
DDG also provided photos of a cut on his thumb and several bruises on his forearm, which he claims he received from Bailey.
In his motion, DDG stated that Bailey poses an “imminent emotional and psychological risk” to their child, whom she planned to fly to Italy with on Saturday to film an upcoming movie. Just weeks earlier, Bailey was awarded temporary custody of Halo and a temporary restraining order against DDG, accusing him of physical and emotional abuse. Problems in their coparenting became public in April, when DDG alleged being given restricted access to Halo.
