Jared Leto is now confronting serious allegations of sexual misconduct following a comprehensive investigative report from Air Mail.
The bombshell exposé, called The Cult of Leto, features testimonies from nine women who describe troubling encounters with the actor and musician, with several claiming they were minors when these incidents occurred.
DJ and producer Allie Teilz stands among the accusers, having initially voiced her concerns back in 2012. Through a recent Instagram post, Teilz revealed she was just 17 when Leto allegedly assaulted her, declaring: “He knew my age and didn’t care. What he did was predatory, terrifying, and unacceptable.” Her brave account has encouraged other women to step forward, with some alleging misconduct that happened when they were merely 14 years old.
Model Laura La Rue has also shared her experience, recalling how she met Leto in 2008 when she was 16. She claims he pursued contact even after learning her age. La Rue further alleges that during a private encounter when she was 17, he exposed himself inappropriately. Leto’s representative has pushed back against these claims, maintaining that their interactions were neither sexual nor inappropriate. The spokesperson also pointed out that La Rue subsequently sought employment as Leto’s personal assistant.
Another woman has come forward with a different incident that allegedly took place after she reached 18, claiming Leto exposed himself and forced unwanted physical contact.
While the report stops short of alleging sexual activity with minors, it does detail concerning behavior involving young women. Multiple accusers have described how Leto reached out to them via text, phone calls, or emails following encounters at events or concerts, frequently while they were still teenagers.
The Air Mail investigation points to these incidents as part of a troubling pattern rather than isolated events, suggesting alleged grooming and inappropriate behavior stretching back to the mid-2000s. Several women described receiving invitations to private gatherings where Leto was allegedly surrounded by significantly younger female admirers.
The 53-year-old Leto has remained silent on the matter personally. His spokesperson for the Thirty Seconds to Mars leader has issued a strong rebuttal, declaring there is “no truth” to the claims presented in the article and dismissing the accusations as “categorically false.”
The allegations lack physical evidence to support them, and none of the women claim Leto crossed the line into illegal sexual conduct with minors. Despite this, the detailed testimonies have sparked fresh public examination of the actor’s behavior and ignited broader conversations about responsibility within the entertainment world.
Leto’s representatives have not provided additional responses to follow-up requests for comment as of publication.
