Sydney Sweeney’s bathwater-themed soap, developed alongside men’s grooming company Dr. Squatch, has turned into a viral phenomenon and coveted collector’s piece.
The exclusive soap dubbed Sydney’s Bathwater Bliss launched Friday (June 6) and disappeared from shelves in mere minutes. Originally priced at just $8 with only 5,000 bars produced, countless buyers found themselves stuck in checkout queues lasting over four hours.
Within hours of the complete sellout, enterprising individuals flooded resale sites like eBay and StockX, demanding hundreds of dollars for the bars. The top eBay transaction reached a staggering $725 at press time, while most buyers have shelled out anywhere from $400 to $600 for the soap. StockX recorded average resale values at $251, and by Saturday afternoon, the bars were fetching upwards of $590 on secondary markets.

Every soap bar comes with a certificate confirming the inclusion of Sweeney’s genuine bathwater, which was allegedly collected from a tub she used during a Dr. Squatch campaign in 2024. The medium-grit formula combines shea butter, pine bark extract, exfoliating sand, and traces of Sweeney’s bathwater. The brand markets the soap as having a natural, woodland-inspired fragrance with hints of pine, Douglas fir, and moss.
John Ludeke, Dr. Squatch’s senior VP of global marketing, described the idea as “bizarre” and “meant to get guys thinking more deeply about what they’re putting on their bodies.”
Sweeney, who appeared in the brand’s advertisement last year, announced the product through Instagram: “You kept asking about my bathwater after the @drsquatch ad… so we kept it,” she posted. “A very real, very limited-edition soap made with my actual bathwater.”
