Brittany Renner has confirmed her short-lived relationship with Kevin Gates has ended.
During an interview with REAL 92.3 LA released on Saturday, the 33-year-old influencer and Basketball Wives star disclosed that she and the 39-year-old rapper tied the knot but divorced after only 52 days of marriage.
“We got married April 6 and divorced May 28,” Renner shared, explaining that she harbors no regrets and feels at peace with the outcome. “I don’t feel like it’s a sucky situation because what is meant to be is always going to be.”
She went on to say, “I followed my heart, and that’s what more than most people can say, and I think when you do that, you get all the clarity you need, and there’s no stone left unturned, and there’s no regret […] A lot of people, their issue is, even just in dating, in marriage, it’s people just don’t give it their all. They don’t just go for it. But I feel like when you do, you’re at peace with whatever happens because I gave 100 percent.”
Just weeks before the split, Renner had praised her then-husband, telling PEOPLE in May, “All I can say is, is that I’m with the person that I quite literally dreamed of. And to be able to just wake up next to him and spend time with him, even to have him here behind me, it’s like so surreal. He’s just the most beautiful person inside and out that I’ve ever met.”
Representatives for Renner and Gates have remained silent about the breakup. Renner has a 4-year-old child with Dallas Mavericks forward P.J. Washington from a past relationship, while Gates is father to four children.
