Fellow Saturday Night Live alumni Eddie Murphy and Pete Davidson find themselves driving a hijacked armored truck in the first trailer for The Pickup.
Keke Palmer, first appearing in the trailer’s opening moments on what turns out to be a very eventful date with Davidson’s character, is determined to execute a $60 million casino heist. Obviously, this major score requires an armored truck, prompting the Nope star’s character, Zoe, to take control of the vehicle driven by Murphy’s Russell and Davidson’s Travis.

Adding to the chaos are a death threat, a crucial wedding anniversary, and a growing list of heist-related complications (not to mention life-threatening situations). In other words, this movie focuses on what is definitely the absolute worst day to work as an armored truck driver.
The supporting cast includes Eva Longoria, Marshawn Lynch (whose comedy performance in 2023’s Bottoms is always worth rewatching), Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoa’i, Andrew Dice Clay, and Ismael Cruz Córdova.

This marks the second Pete-focused trailer in just as many weeks. Fans recently got a preview of what’s coming in The Home, a new horror film from The Purge creator James DeMonaco. Check that out here.
Up next for Murphy is Shrek 5 alongside Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, and franchise newcomer Zendaya. Scheduled for release in December 2026, the Dreamworks Animation project arrives more than 16 years after the latest non-spinoff Shrek movie, 2010’s Shrek Forever After.
