Kevin Hart Playfully Cautions Against Allowing Kanye Into BET Awards ‘So He Can Take Another Bite at Playboi Carti’

Kevin Hart didn’t hold back when it came to Kanye West at the 2025 BET Awards. While delivering his opening monologue, the comedian playfully alerted the crowd that Ye was trying to get into the event. “Ah shit, it’s Kanye,” Hart announced while glancing at his phone. “He says he’s out front. He’s waiting for somebody to invite him in.”

He went on, “Hey, don’t do it, okay? We all saw the movie Sinners, don’t let his ass in here so he can bite somebody, so he can bite Playboi Carti again.” Hart was clearly making a reference to the Ryan Coogler-directed vampire thriller featuring Michael B. Jordan. “Playboi Cardi definitely been bit, something happened. Playboi Carti’s been bit, I know he has,” Hart declared with a chuckle. “Nobody let Kanye in! No, not tonight.” Ye’s most recent award show appearance was at the 2025 Grammy Awards where he hit the red carpet alongside his wife, Bianca Censori. While Censori showed up wearing a thick, dark fur coat, the 30-year-old Australian architect later peeled it off to unveil an “invisible” dress that concealed absolutely nothing.

Elsewhere in the monologue, Hart turned his attention to Cardi B and Stefon Diggs’ Miami yacht party over Memorial Day weekend.

“I’m gonna do my part. I’m shutting down the idea of after parties, no after parties tonight, OK? None. Take your asses home after this. That’s why I did it on a Monday. People gotta go to work tomorrow. No after parties. That’s where shit gets slippery at them goddamn after parties,” Hart declared, apparently alluding to Diddy and the accusations surrounding him. “No yachts, no boats. Cardi B, no pink stuff, what the fuck? None of that stuff. Everybody’s gonna get hit tonight. We’re live. It’s gonna be a good time,” he added.

Hart appeared to walk back his remarks about Cardi by shouting out her and other female hip-hop artists for what they’ve brought to the culture. “The women in hip-hop are doing such amazing—I told you guys it’s a matter of giving flowers, so I wanna make sure I celebrate this correctly. Shouts out to Cardi B, shouts out to Meg[an] Thee Stallion. shouts out to Latto, Doechii, just to name a few. You guys are all doing amazing things,” Hart said. “We all love you, we all see you, we all support you. It’s dope as hell to see how you guys are pushing the goddamn business in music forward. Keep going ladies, keep going,” he wrapped up.
