Fat Joe and Jadakiss are split on Offset reportedly asking Cardi B for spousal support.
During a new episode of their Joe and Jada podcast, the two rap legends tackled the topic after Fat Joe brought it up to hear Jadakiss’s take. “In hip-hop lately, we’ve been seeing guys asking for spousal support,” Joe said. “You been seeing these guys. I’m talking about one rap star in particular saying he needs the bread because she makes more money.”
Fat Joe and Jadakiss had a lively back-and-forth over Offset’s request for spousal support from Cardi B, and their takes couldn’t have been more different.
When Fat Joe asked for Jadakiss’s opinion, Jada leaned in favor of Offset. “To each his own,” he said. “I don’t feel no kind of way. It’s never a problem when it happens the other way, so shit, let’s get a win for the other guy one time.”
Fat Joe wasn’t having it. He quickly countered, “You can’t be a rap star asking for somebody to pay your bills. I love my sister Cardi B. I know how hard it is for her to come from where we came from and make a couple of dollars and be successful.”
The convo didn’t stop there. They also brought up Cardi and Offset’s son, Wave, getting matching braids with Cardi’s current boyfriend, Stefon Diggs. Jadakiss called it a “low blow” but added that we really don’t know what’s going on behind closed doors.
Back in late May, Offset filed an amendment to his divorce petition asking for spousal support from Cardi. He didn’t name a specific amount but requested financial support along with joint custody of their three kids — Kulture, Wave, and their baby girl.
Cardi, on the other hand, seems unbothered. She’s been going strong with Diggs, recently marking six months together with a celebratory post.
