Tisha Campbell is getting real about her recent cosmetic surgery journey.
While chatting with Entertainment Tonight on the 2025 BET Awards red carpet, the 56-year-old actress revealed she recently had a “mommy makeover.” “For those who don’t know, I recently got plastic surgery,” she said. “It was a mommy makeover. I had extra skin from the baby and a little bit of droppage here and there—and they tightened me together.”
Campbell said the conversation came up while working on The Ms. Pat Show with Taj and LeLee from SWV, and it led to all of them talking about their bodies and confidence. “I convinced them to call the doctors, and they wanted mommy makeovers too,” she said. “We should feel good about ourselves, you know? I’m a single mom—not ready to date—but I wanted to feel good for me. And this helped me do that. I wanted them to feel good too.”
She said she passed along the doctor’s number, and her friends took the leap. “I’m happy for them,” she added.
When the ET reporter mentioned how more stars are opening up about cosmetic work—like Kylie Jenner recently revealing the exact details of her breast implants—Campbell responded, “She look good.”
Asked why she chose to speak publicly about her procedures, Campbell said, “First of all, I’m an open book. Second, I think it’s important for people to know why someone does it—if it’s to feel good about yourself. I had a lot of extra skin from the babies, and I wanted to be honest about it.”
She continued, “I’m not flaunting anything, but it feels good to be a little more snatched in that area. It’s not for everyone, but it was right for me.”
Campbell shares two sons, 23-year-old Xen Whaheed and 15-year-old Ezekiel Czar, with her ex-husband Duane Martin. The couple was married from 1996 to 2020.
