Nelly and Ashanti, who now share a son, Kenkaide “KK” Haynes, tied the knot not long after Ashanti got pregnant. In a recent interview on The Bootleg Kev Podcast, Nelly revealed he married her to avoid labeling her a “baby mama.”
“When we found out she was pregnant, we hadn’t talked about any of that yet,” he shared. “But I was like, ‘Yo, let’s just knock this out because we’re gonna be doing so much, and everything’s moving so fast.’ I didn’t want her to be a baby mama.”
