Nick Cannon had a bit of an awkward moment trying to list all 12 of his children’s names during a recent appearance on The Really Good Podcast with Bobbi Althoff.
In the June 19 episode, Althoff asked Cannon why he chose to have such a large family. The Wild ’n Out star responded by referencing a “king complex,” comparing himself to King Solomon, who famously had 700 wives and 300 concubines.
“I don’t want no wives, I just want kids,” Cannon said around the 15-minute mark.
Though he’s not sure if more children are in his future, Cannon added, “I don’t know what God and the universe have in store for me.”
Around the 28-minute mark of The Really Good Podcast, Nick Cannon began describing his kids’ personalities, sharing that his two-year-old daughter, Beautiful Zeppelin Cannon, “cries in surround sound.” That got host Bobbi Althoff curious, prompting her to ask him to list all 12 of his children.
“I just told you,” Cannon replied, to which Althoff shot back, “You told me one.”
“You want all 12?” he laughed. “This is where I usually get in trouble… I know all of ’em, but can you rattle off just 12 of anything?”
Trying to deflect, Cannon challenged Althoff to name 12 things, like U.S. states. She declined, saying they weren’t “personal” enough for her. Eventually, Cannon gave in and attempted to name his children in one go.
“There’s Roc, Roe, Golden, Powerful, Rise, Onyx, Legendary, Zion, Zillion, Zen, and…” he trailed off. “And see, this is where I, uh…”
Realizing he was missing two, he added Beautiful and his youngest, Halo Marie Cannon. Cannon admitted he usually remembers all their names through a verse he wrote. “There’s a song, and I was like, I don’t want to do that,” he explained. “I wrote a verse that had all their names in it and I just, sometimes I recite that.”
When asked to rap it, Cannon declined — though he acknowledged that doing so would “probably go viral.”
Fatherhood has been a frequent topic for Cannon, who claims to have good relationships with all the mothers of his children. However, Alyssa Scott — mother of Zen (who passed away from brain cancer) and Halo — recently claimed the entertainer rarely visits their daughter.
