‘60s Teen Idol Passes Away After Terminal Health Battle

Former ’60s teen idol Bobby Sherman has passed away at the age of 81, following a battle with stage 4 cancer.

News of his death was shared on Tuesday, June 24, when Full House star John Stamos posted a heartfelt statement from Bobby’s wife, Brigitte Poublon Sherman, on Instagram.

“It is with the heaviest heart that I share the passing of my beloved husband, Bobby Sherman. Bobby left this world holding my hand—just as he held up our life with love, courage, and unwavering grace through all 29 beautiful years of marriage. I was his Cinderella, and he was my prince charming,” she wrote.

Brigitte recalled reading fan letters to Bobby in his final days, noting how he soaked in every word with a sparkle in his eye and even managed to crack a few jokes, true to his spirited sense of humor. “He lived with integrity, gave without hesitation, and loved with his whole heart,” she added. “Thank you to every fan who ever sang along, who ever wrote a letter, who ever sent love his way. He felt it.”

In March, Brigitte revealed that Bobby had been diagnosed with terminal cancer and asked for privacy as they navigated the difficult journey.

Bobby Sherman shot to fame in the 1960s with a string of hit singles and a massive fanbase. His music career spanned from 1962 to 1976 before he officially stepped away from the spotlight in 2001.

He is survived by his wife, their two sons, Tyler and Christopher, and six grandchildren.
