Diddy Trial Nears Conclusion as Jury Set to Begin Deliberations This Week

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex trafficking and racketeering trial is heading into its final stretch, with the jury expected to begin deliberations by the end of this week.

As outlined by both legal teams and Judge Arun Subramanian on Monday, June 23, the government will wrap up cross-examination of its final witness—HSI Special Agent Joseph Cerciello—on Tuesday morning. After that, the court will hear Rule 29 motions, where Diddy’s defense will argue that the case should be partially or fully dismissed for lack of evidence.

Following that, the defense is set to present its case, which they’ve said will be completed by Tuesday’s end. It remains unclear how many witnesses Diddy’s team will actually call, though names like longtime HR head Vashta Dunlap, forensic psychiatrists Dr. Alexander Bardey and Dr. Elie Aoun, video expert Conor McCourt, and even a defense paralegal have been floated. Notably, People reported last week that Diddy himself will not take the stand.

Wednesday will be reserved for a charge conference to finalize jury instructions, with closing arguments scheduled to kick off Thursday and carry over into Friday. Diddy’s lawyer, Teny Geragos, said her closing will take at least four hours, with the government’s expected to be about the same.

Once both sides wrap their final statements, the jury will be charged and deliberations will begin—possibly by Friday afternoon. Diddy faces five serious charges: racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking of Cassie Ventura, transportation with intent to commit prostitution (related to Cassie), sex trafficking of Jane Doe, and transportation with intent to commit prostitution (related to Jane).

Jury selection began on May 5, with testimony launching the following week.
