R. Kelly’s lawyer is pushing back against rumors that a recent video featuring his fiancée, Joycelyn Savage, was created using AI.
The speculation surfaced after Savage’s parents, JonJelyn and Timothy Savage, posted a nearly three-minute response video on Instagram Monday, reacting to their daughter’s appearance in the clip.
“It’s been a little over six years since we’ve seen her in public,” said JonJelyn Savage in the Instagram video. “The video we saw raised some concerns, it looks like it could be A.I.-generated.” She added, “Anyone familiar with A.I. knows how realistic videos can be from just a single photo. Her voice and speech didn’t quite match the video, and even the gestures and image on her shirt looked off like the mouth on it moved when she spoke.”
But R. Kelly’s attorney, Beau Brindley, dismissed those claims, telling TMZ he personally spoke to Joycelyn Savage before the video was recorded. According to him, she confirmed everything she said on camera and insisted the footage was 100% real and untouched.
Brindley says Joycelyn is currently living near the Federal Correctional Institution in Butner, North Carolina, to regularly visit Kelly. He claims she’s financially independent, supported by friends, and has cut ties with her family.
Now 29, Joycelyn previously stated she welcomed her first child with Kelly in 2022 and proposed to him that same year. In her latest video update, she directly addressed and denied her family’s claims that she’s a “sex slave” to the disgraced singer.
“I am not a victim. I’ve been with Robert for ten years. He’s been incarcerated for six, and I’ve seen him every weekend during that time,” Joycelyn Savage said in the video.
She continued, “Please don’t believe the lies my mother and father are spreading about me and Robert. I’m not being held against my will. I’m not a ‘sex slave,’ I’m not ‘brainwashed,’ or any of those insane stories they’ve told about me. I just want Robert to receive the righteous justice he deserves—because he deserves to be free. Enough is enough.”
