On top of the debut from hip-hop heavyweights Doechii and Tyler, the Creator, the Louis Vuitton show in Paris got even more star-studded with surprise appearances from Jay-Z and Beyoncé.
Adding to the lineup of hip-hop royalty, Pusha T was also spotted at the Louis Vuitton show, attending with his wife and son. You can catch them in the video from the event below.
Doechii and Tyler, the Creator have been building their creative chemistry for a while now. She was featured on “Balloon” from his 2024 album Chromakopia, and the duo even hit the stage together for a performance of the track at Camp Flog Gnaw that same year.
Tyler brought her out again earlier this year during the Los Angeles stop of his Chromakopia tour. In the middle of the set, he paused to give her major praise:
“I’m so happy she exists. We have to keep supporting everything she does,” he said. “Keep supporting art. Keep supporting art.”
In a March interview with Nardwuar, Tyler shared how he first discovered Doechii’s music. “I came across Doechii on something that YouTube recommended,” he recalled. “It was the ‘Catfish’ record or ‘Nissan Altima.’ I was like, ‘What is this? Damn, this girl pretty as hell.’ And I clicked it and I was blown away and I just kept going and kept going and kept going.”
He continued, “I was like ‘Oh my God!’ and then I DMed her and I was like, ‘Ni**a, I’m gonna need you in a few months!’ And then we linked and yeah, she’s incredible. I’m so happy that she [won a Grammy] and she’s in folks’ faces and we have to just keep supporting artists who care about things.”
In her own interview with The Cut, Doechii opened up about what Tyler said when he first heard “Catfish.” “He told me, ‘I heard that record and I’m like, ‘Oh I’m nothing. I need to get punched in my fucking face so I can do this,’” she said.
