Vin Diesel Hints at Paul Walker’s Return in ‘Fast & Furious 11’, Locks In April 2027 Release Date

Vin Diesel has officially fueled fans’ excitement by confirming that Fast & Furious 11 is locked in for release in April 2027.

During an appearance at Fuel Fest in Pomona, California on Saturday (June 28), Diesel took the stage with co-stars Tyrese Gibson and Cody Walker to share that Universal Pictures is aiming to close out the Fast saga in spring 2027. But Diesel made it clear—he had three conditions before agreeing.

“The studio said to me, ‘Vin, can we please have the finale of Fast and Furious in April 2027?’” he told the crowd. “I said, ‘Under three conditions.’ First, bring the franchise back to L.A. Second, return to car culture and street racing. Third, reunite Dom and Brian O’Conner.”

That last part has everyone talking—Brian O’Conner was played by Paul Walker, who passed away in 2013. While the character made a brief CGI cameo in Furious 7, the idea of a full reunion raises major questions.

Fast X, released in May 2023, raked in over $700 million globally despite its massive $340 million budget. It was originally billed as part one of a two-part finale, though it remains unclear if Fast 11 will directly pick up where Fast X left off.
