Diddy Trial Deliberations Halted Over Issue With ‘Juror 25’

The Sean “Diddy” Combs trial hit an unexpected snag on June 30 when the jury passed a note to the judge just an hour into deliberations.

TMZ reports that Judge Arun Subramanian read the message aloud in court:
“We have a juror, Juror 25, who we believe cannot follow your honor’s instructions.”

In response, the judge reminded the jury of their duty and instructed them to continue deliberating. No specific details were shared about Juror 25’s views on the case.

TMZ identified Juror 25 as a 51-year-old gay white man with a Ph.D. in molecular biology and a background in veterinary science.

Diddy is currently facing multiple serious charges tied to allegations of involvement in a criminal sex trafficking ring, according to USA Today. The charges include two counts of sex trafficking, two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, and one count of racketeering—a charge that could carry a life sentence if he’s found guilty.

The rapper was arrested back in September 2024 and has been held at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center ever since.

According to NBC News, one juror was previously dismissed from the case due to unclear residency information and was replaced.

It’s still unclear how long deliberations will last, but for a verdict to be reached, all jurors must agree. If they can’t come to a unanimous decision, it would result in a hung jury and a mistrial.
