N.O.R.E. recently shared that Pusha T raised his voice for the first time after a question he asked Pharrell during a 2020 Drink Champs episode.
Speaking on The Bootleg Kev Podcast, N.O.R.E. admitted he wasn’t sure if he should even tell the story but went ahead anyway, saying he was “in the zone.” He had asked Pharrell about Pusha T’s beef with Drake, and according to him, Pharrell wasn’t thrilled with how things played out, saying he would’ve done his best to keep Push from taking things that far.
When asked about his own relationship with Drake, Pharrell revealed they’ve since spoken, saying, “I love Drake.”
“We’ve talked several times. I love Drake,” he shared. “Even in the middle of all that stuff… he said super nice and kind things to me on the DM and in public… Neither one of them are into problems. They don’t like it, like, it’s unnecessary. But they’re both people who, when they feel like they’re being pushed to a limit, they gotta do what they gotta do.”
After the interview, N.O.R.E. got a heated call from Pusha T, who was clearly upset about how he asked Pharrell whether he’d take a side in the Drake-Pusha feud.
“Pusha called me, like, ‘How the fuck is our boy doing this? How is he doing that? How does he fucking pick? He says both of us. Drake wouldn’t have picked both of us. Drake would’ve picked him!’” N.O.R.E. recalled.
He responded by simply letting Pusha vent, saying, “Pusha, this is one time I’m shutting the fuck up. I’m gonna let you vent ‘cause I have no”—before trailing off and adding, “but it’s real.”
N.O.R.E. wrapped it up by saying the moment just shows how genuine Pharrell really is.
During the “Quicktime with Slime” segment on Drink Champs, Pharrell consistently avoided choosing sides between artists like Jay-Z and Snoop Dogg, Timbaland and Kanye West, and Missy Elliott and Kelis—always answering, “Both.”
