Lil Uzi Vert Hit With Another Lawsuit Over Past Assault Allegations, Lawyer Shuts Down Claims of Involvement

Previously disputed assault allegations involving Lil Uzi Vert and Floyd Mayweather have resurfaced with a new lawsuit filed in Philadelphia this week.

According to The Philadelphia Inquirer, Abdullah Ali—who first made headlines last June when he filed a suit in New York—has now taken legal action in his and Uzi’s home state. Ali originally claimed that both Uzi and Mayweather were involved in a 2023 incident in New York City that left him injured. At the time, representatives for Uzi denied any involvement, and by June 2024, Uzi had been officially dismissed from that case.

In the new Pennsylvania suit, Ali alleges the confrontation began when he spotted a Rolls-Royce inside a trailer marked with Floyd Mayweather’s Money Team branding.

According to the latest filing, Abdullah Ali says things turned violent after he took photos of the Rolls-Royce. He claims a verbal exchange with several individuals allegedly linked to Lil Uzi Vert escalated into a physical assault. In the complaint, Ali alleges he was punched and kicked, resulting in a shoulder injury and the loss of multiple teeth.

His attorney, speaking to The Philadelphia Inquirer, confirmed the extent of his injuries as part of the case.

However, Uzi’s legal team isn’t backing down. Joanna Menillo, an attorney for the rapper, told Complex on Wednesday, “This case has been frivolous from the outset with absolutely no evidence of any involvement by Uzi or Uzivert [Uzi’s company] in this alleged assault. The Court in New York rightly dismissed this case and we expect the Court in Pennsylvania will do the same.”

The last time we saw something fresh from Lil Uzi Vert was back in May, when they starred in a Vans Premium Old Skool campaign shot by @rayscorruptedmind. In a Complex interview tied to the campaign, Uzi reflected on their dual success in both fashion and music, saying neither holds more weight than the other.

“We all serve a purpose on the Earth, so don’t judge music or fashion if you don’t fit in it,” Uzi shared, highlighting their broader, purpose-driven mindset.

And in a more playful update, Uzi recently celebrated landing their first-ever double kickflip — proving they’re still adding new tricks to their arsenal, both literally and creatively.
