Kodak Black returned to his roots this week, getting a major honor in his hometown of Pompano Beach, Florida.
On Tuesday (July 8), the “Cluck” rapper was presented with the key to the city by Mayor Rex Hardin during a local ceremony. In an Instagram post capturing the moment, Kodak stood proudly alongside the mayor, his family, and a crowd of supporters. He was recognized for his “outstanding generosity and lasting impact on the community.”

Kodak Black has consistently given back to his community through his Zachariah McQueen Foundation. Over the years, he’s hosted holiday turkey drives, handed out bikes and gifts to local kids, and even covered rent for 200 Pompano Beach families—not once, but twice. In 2021, the foundation teamed up with Palm Beach County nonprofit A Different Shade of Love to donate AC units to residents in Riviera Beach.
During the ceremony, Mayor Rex Hardin praised Kodak’s unwavering commitment to his hometown, saying, “An individual whose journey from these very streets to international acclaim has been remarkable, but whose heart has never left this community.”

Just last month, Kodak Black hosted a special Father’s Day tailgate bash at his alma mater, Blanche Ely High School. The event welcomed local dads and their kids with free admission, continuing his tradition of giving back and celebrating his Pompano Beach roots.
