Young Thug didn’t seem too bothered by Akademiks’ recent jab about his stance on snitching in the rap game.
Earlier this week, Thug posted a tweet suggesting that rappers who “rat” should just “go gospel twin,” which many fans took as a subtle shot at his former YSL collaborator, Gunna. Akademiks was quick to respond, tweeting that someone needed to tell Thug he’s “the last rapper on earth who cares who SNITCHING.” He added that most rappers are telling anyway, they’re dropping the best music, and fans simply “don’t give af.”
Surprisingly, Thug agreed—at least partly. “That’s actually crazy but true,” he replied, “except the making the best music part.”

Young Thug’s stance on snitching has only gotten stronger since his release, and he’s been making that clear in his music.
Back in April, Thug dropped “Money on Money” featuring Future, where he didn’t hold back on calling out those who cooperate with authorities. On the track, he spits, “These fuck n***as tellin’ for nothin’, and I gotta be the one callin’ ’em friends,” followed by the pointed lines, “Brother, you a rat (My brother),” and “Twin, you a rat, you smoked, uh.”
Many fans took the lyrics as another dig at Gunna, especially considering the history between the two. That speculation only grew after Thug was asked about his current relationship with his “Ski” collaborator in a recent interview. His vague response? “Yeah, I know. Everybody wondering that. I don’t know.”
