Drake Declares ‘No One Can Out-Rap London’ During Wireless Festival Set

Drake gave major props to the UK rap game—and stirred the pot a bit—during his set at Wireless Festival.

While introducing Skepta on Saturday night, the 6 God paused to share his thoughts with the crowd, boldly stating, “No disrespect to America, but nobody in the world can out‑rap London rappers.”

Drizzy’s bold statement about London rap was sparked by a post Skepta made on X earlier this month, which reignited the ongoing U.S. vs. U.K. rap debate.

“I wanna clash an American rapper anyway, finally get this US/UK rap debate sorted,” Skepta wrote, setting off waves of discussion across social media.

Drake, who’s headlining all three nights of Wireless Festival, doubled down on the sentiment during night two. Alongside Skepta, he brought out heavy hitters like Dave, Central Cee, 21 Savage, Sexyy Red, Yeat, Latto, and even Vanessa Carlton.

He’s expected to keep the surprises coming for the festival’s final night, with fans anticipating appearances from Afrobeats and dancehall stars like Burna Boy and Vybz Kartel. Night one already delivered nostalgic vibes with guest spots from Giveon, Bryson Tiller, Mario, and Bobby Valentino—plus the jaw-dropping moment Lauryn Hill joined Drake onstage to perform “Nice for What,” which samples her 1998 hit “Ex-Factor.”

Drake’s London takeover follows the release of his latest single, “What Did I Miss?”—a track set to appear on his upcoming ninth studio album, Iceman. This new era also sees him diving into the streaming scene, kicking things off with his Iceman Episode 1 livestream, where he previewed a handful of tracks expected to make the album cut. He even flew in select streamers to attend Wireless Fest, blending music, media, and fandom into one buzzing experience.
