Mariah Carey Drops Surprise ‘Type Dangerous’ Remix EP Featuring Method Man & More

Mariah Carey gave fans a surprise treat with the unexpected drop of her Type Dangerous remix EP, featuring guest appearances from Method Man, Big Sean, DJ Snake, and Brazilian star Luísa Sonza.

The music icon announced the release on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, July 11, writing, “Type Dangerous – The Remixes Out Now!! Which one is your fave??” shortly before making the EP available on Spotify.

According to Billboard, all the tracks on the new remix EP are fresh spins on “Type Dangerous,” the lead single from Mariah Carey’s upcoming, still-untitled 16th studio album. Originally released on June 6, the song is just the beginning—Mariah previously teased that more singles are on the way in the coming weeks.

The “Vision of Love” icon also promised fans the album will deliver those classic “Mariah ballads,” but hinted that a breezy, summer-ready single is dropping soon too. The project is expected to include 11 or possibly 12 tracks, and will mark her first full-length release since 2018’s Caution.

Outside of music, Mariah recently made headlines for her no-nonsense response when asked about Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s lavish wedding in Venice, Italy. During a July 7 interaction with an off-camera interviewer, she was asked for her thoughts on the star-studded ceremony and simply replied, “I wasn’t there.”

When pressed further on whether she was invited, Carey shut it down with a sharp, “Oh, don’t turn this into that,” before walking off.

Fans were quick to applaud her unfiltered honesty. “She’s always so diplomatic,” one fan commented. “People think she’s giving low-key attitude, but she’s just being honest and straightforward.”
