Kevin Hart recently shared a glimpse of his gym grind, but the internet had other plans.
On Thursday, July 10, the comedian took to Instagram to post a workout video showing off his progress. Set to the instrumental of Ice Cube’s classic hit “You Can Do It,” the clip features Hart doing deadlifts and back squats while a trainer—off-camera—cheers him on.
Despite the hype, the internet wasn’t impressed, and the video quickly became a target for jokes.
The internet didn’t hold back after Kevin Hart dropped his workout video.
One viewer bluntly called him out: “It’s literally 10lbs,” while another added, “Form is bad because of your lack of mobility. You need to work on it or you’re going to get hurt Be patient with progress.”
Gym veterans especially took notice of his technique. “Ain’t no way! This form is so bad on all the moves. Please fire that Coach. Did I hear him say ‘yeah that was a good one’?,” one fan posted.
Another chimed in with a softer critique: “Respect the work, but somebody get this man a trainer to tighten up that form.”
Still, not everyone was piling on. Some fans reminded critics that Hart underwent major spinal surgery in 2019 after a serious car crash.
“His back was messed up relax who cares he’s over 40 he doesn’t need to push up a bunch of weight,” one supporter noted.
And one fan even offered his professional help: “Yo Kev! Love to see your grind. As a 23-year Army vet, orthopedic and trauma nurse, multi-sport athlete, and now a sports med doc—let’s talk form! Your trainer should know, or holla at me. I’d close down my facility to work with you. Just sayin.”
