Nick Cannon on the Possibility of More Kids: ‘I Never Say Never’

Nick Cannon isn’t ruling out adding more kids to his growing family.

In a new Vulture feature, the actor, comedian, and TV host opened up about fatherhood and the unexpected expansion of his brood. Cannon reflected on having nine more children after welcoming twins Moroccan and Monroe, now 13, with ex-wife Mariah Carey. Though he hasn’t remarried, he’s since had nine additional kids with multiple women.

“It was also a little bit of, like, Okay, God, how did I have five kids in one year? Probably careless activity,” he admitted.

Though the 44-year-old isn’t actively planning for more kids, he’s not closing the door on the idea either. “The world is a crazy place. I never say ‘never!’” Cannon said.

Still, he’s faced criticism in recent months, particularly from Alyssa Scott—the mother of his daughter Halo and late son Zen—who’s accused him of not being as present as he should be. Zen tragically passed away from brain cancer at just five months old back in 2021.

Just last month, Cannon made headlines after nearly forgetting two of his children during a chat with Bobbi Althoff on The Really Good Podcast. He admitted he sometimes uses a jingle to remember all twelve of their names.

When it comes to the possibility of expanding his family even further, Cannon told Althoff, “I don’t know what God and the universe have in store for me.”
