Toronto Rapper Top5 Allegedly Stabbed in London After Wireless Festival

Toronto rapper Top5 was reportedly stabbed while interacting with fans during Drake’s Wireless Festival set in London, according to the Toronto Star. The incident, first reported by Toronto news outlet Keep6ixSolid, happened on Sunday night (July 13) just after Top5 had finished watching Drake’s performance. While hanging out near the stage, a masked attacker allegedly ran up and stabbed him.

Sources confirmed he survived the attack and said “no arteries were hit during the attempt on his life.” Top5 has yet to publicly address what happened.

Just hours before the stabbing, The Express Tribune noted that Top5 made a controversial statement during a livestream, claiming, “There are no real killers in London.”

According to The Sun, a video now circulating online appears to capture the moment of the attack. In the clip, a group of men are seen stomping a car windshield and assaulting someone in the driver’s seat. Authorities responded to the scene on Springpark Drive around 12:15 a.m. on Monday (July 14).

“A man in his 20s was approached by a group who damaged his vehicle before stabbing him in the leg,” said a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police. “He was taken to hospital and his injuries are not believed to be life-changing. Enquiries are ongoing, and no arrests have been made.”

Top5 was previously released from prison last year after a judge tossed out social media evidence in his murder case tied to the 2021 shooting of 20-year-old Hashim Omar Hashi.

“An innocent man just came home,” he said at the time, speaking to reporters outside court.

However, he still faces separate firearms charges from an incident earlier this year.

He was among the many in attendance for Drake’s three-night Wireless Festival takeover, which featured a star-studded lineup of talent from Toronto, London, and beyond.
