Drake says he’s got a lot to get off his chest on his next album, ICEMAN.
While performing in Birmingham, England, the Canadian rap icon paused mid-show to speak directly to the crowd about what he’s been working on. In a fan-shot video shared online, Drake confirmed he’s deep in album mode — and that this next project will be personal.
“You know I’m working on my album Iceman. We got a lot to talk about, so I’m looking forward to it,” he told the audience, dropping just enough of a teaser to stir up serious hype.
This isn’t the first time Drizzy’s teased his upcoming project. Back in February, during a show in Australia, he gave fans an early taste of what to expect from this next chapter in his music journey.
“And you know, eventually, when the time is right, Drizzy Drake alone by himself, is gonna have to have a one-on-one talk to y’all. When the time is right, I’ll be back with another album, a one-on-one conversation with y’all that you need to hear,” he told the crowd.
Looks like ICEMAN is shaping up to be a personal, reflective drop straight from the heart of The Boy.
Though there’s no confirmed release date or tracklist yet for ICEMAN, Drake did give fans a taste of what’s to come with the release of “What Did I Miss?” earlier this month — and it made a major impact, debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
On the track, Drake doesn’t hold back, diving into recent tensions and calling out those who pulled away during his highly publicized feud with Kendrick Lamar. It’s a clear sign that ICEMAN is shaping up to be one of his most candid projects yet.
