The hype for Euphoria Season 3 just got even bigger. On Wednesday, July 23, HBO revealed that legendary composer Hans Zimmer will join Labrinth to score the upcoming season.
Labrinth, who’s been the musical force behind the first two seasons, helped create iconic tracks like “Still Don’t Know My Name” and “All for Us,” both of which became fan favorites and viral hits.
Series creator Sam Levinson, a longtime admirer of Zimmer’s work, shared that he actually wrote this season while listening to Zimmer’s scores for Interstellar and True Romance. Now, with Zimmer and Labrinth teaming up, Levinson says he’s hoping to take Euphoria “to new heights.”
Zimmer, a 12-time Oscar nominee, has won twice — first in 1995 for The Lion King, and again in 2022 for Dune.
“It’s an honor to join this incredible team of storytellers led by the visionary Sam Levinson,” Hans Zimmer shared in a statement. “They’ve created such a bold and emotional series that’s resonated deeply with audiences. Labrinth’s music has been a defining part of Euphoria, and I’m excited to help shape this new season through music.”
Season 3 is currently in production, with fan favorites like Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Alexa Demie, Eric Dane, Colman Domingo, and Maude Apatow all returning. This time, they’ll be joined by a fresh wave of stars including Rosalía, Sharon Stone, Anna Van Patten, Marshawn Lynch, Priscilla Delgado, and Kadeem Hardison.
Plot details are still being kept tightly under wraps, but the last time we saw Rue (Zendaya), she was reflecting on her path toward sobriety in the Season 2 finale, which aired in March 2022. As of now, HBO hasn’t announced a premiere date for Season 3.
