Brandy Teams Up With Daughter Sy’rai Smith for Heartwarming Track ‘Christmas Everyday’

Brandy is making it a family affair this holiday season. The Grammy-winning singer and actress is set to star alongside her daughter, Sy’Rai Smith, in Lifetime’s upcoming holiday movie Christmas Everyday. The project marks Smith’s acting debut while giving Brandy another opportunity to shine both on-screen and behind the scenes as an executive producer.

According to Deadline, the film will serve as the flagship title for Lifetime’s annual “It’s a Wonderful Lifetime” lineup, with more festive movies still to be announced.

In Christmas Everyday, Brandy steps into the role of Francine “Fancy” Ballantine, a passionate fashion designer trying to balance her career with growing family responsibilities. Following her father’s death, Fancy is determined to uphold his beloved Christmas traditions while also supporting her mother, Evelyn (Debbi Morgan), who is slowly losing her sight.

Things become even more stressful when Fancy takes on the task of planning the wedding for her demanding baby sister, Belle—played by Brandy’s real-life daughter Sy’Rai Smith. When a burst water pipe destroys the fairytale wedding setup, rugged contractor Jaylen (Robert C. Riley) is called in to repair the home, bringing unexpected charm and a bit of romance to the mix. Amid the chaos, Fancy discovers the deeper meaning of faith, family, and Christmas.

Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman (UnReal) co-stars as Germaine, Fancy’s supportive colleague and confidant, adding another grounded presence to the whirlwind. The film will also feature Brandy’s 2023 holiday single, “Christmas Everyday,” tying the story together with her music.

Behind the camera, Brandy serves as executive producer alongside Stella Bulochnikov, Dr. Holly Carter, and Ryan Ramsey. Fernando Szew, Hannah Pillemer, Larry Grimaldi, and Adam Shepard oversee for Fox Entertainment Studios, which is producing the project. Roger Bobb directs from a script penned by Meg DeLoatch and Cameron Ross, with Fox Entertainment Global handling international distribution.

“The holidays are always about family as part of the festivities, so I’m beyond thrilled to be partnering with Lifetime on this magical holiday project and having my own daughter star with me – even though we are playing sisters!” Brandy shared in a statement to Deadline.
